What are Xtream Codes?
Xtream Codes is a login format that lets a media player connect to a source using a server address, a username and a password instead of a playlist file.
Xtream Codes is a common login format supported by many media players. Instead of a playlist file, you enter three things — a server URL, a username and a password — and the player fetches your categories, Live TV, VOD and Series from that server's API. Zayron supports Xtream logins for sources you are authorized to use.
How an Xtream login works
When you enter a server, username and password, the player calls the server's player_api.php endpoint to authenticate. If the login is valid, the server returns your account details and lists of content the player then displays:
- Live categories and streams — the channel groups and channels available to your account.
- VOD categories and streams — on-demand films.
- Series — shows organized into seasons and episodes.
- Account info — including your expiry date, which the player uses to show status and warn you before a source lapses.
Individual items play from a stream address the server builds from your username, password and the item's ID. All of this happens automatically once the login succeeds — you only ever enter the three fields.
What you need before you start
You need an Xtream login from a source you are authorized to use. Typically that's three details in this shape:
- Server URL — for example
http://example-server.com:8080 - Username
- Password
Zayron does not issue Xtream logins and does not host any server — you bring credentials you already have the right to use.
How to add an Xtream source to Zayron
- Open Zayron and choose Add playlist → Xtream (or use zayron.pro/upload).
- Enter your server URL, username and password exactly as provided.
- Save. Zayron authenticates and loads your Live, VOD and Series.
Xtream vs M3U — which should I use?
If your source gives you a login (server, username, password), use Xtream — it usually gives cleaner categories, VOD/Series metadata and account expiry. If your source gives you a single link, use an M3U playlist URL. Zayron supports both and can merge multiple sources into one library.
Xtream troubleshooting
- Login fails: double-check the server URL (including
http://and the port), and that the username and password have no stray spaces. - Loads but empty: the account may have expired at the source, or have no categories assigned.
- Buffering: switch Zayron's playback engine in settings, or check your connection.
